DECT bases and FXS adapters
DECT bases give you cordless handsets on the same extensions as everything else; FXS adapters connect analog devices (cordless phones, door intercoms, overhead paging) to the system.
Adding a device
Admin → Devices → Add DECT / FXS opens the device wizard (DECT bases and FXS adapters live on the Devices page alongside desk phones — the Trunks page is for carriers, gateways and bridges):
- Pick the model — templates cover the common DECT bases and FXS adapters: Yealink W-series bases (W52/W60B/W70B/W75B/W80B/W90B), Gigaset N-series (N510–N870), Snom M-series (M300–M900), Grandstream HT ATAs (HT801–HT818, plus the HT801 V2 / HT802 V2) and GXW42xx FXS gateways, Fanvil W710D, Patton and FarSouth FXS units.
- Name it and enter the MAC address (printed on the device label), plus any model-specific options the template exposes.
- Choose the connection (models that support it) — Local LAN, or OpenVPN for an adapter at a remote site: the HT80x V2 family receives its VPN certificates inside the provisioning file and registers through the tunnel with no further setup.
- Map handsets/ports to extensions — the wizard shows one row per account the model supports; assign each to an existing user, or leave ports unassigned.
Point the device's provisioning/config server at your system's provisioning URL — ⋮ → Copy Provisioning URL on the device's row puts it on your clipboard — and it pulls a multi-account configuration: every mapped handset or port registers as its extension. The device list shows live per-port registration ("2 / 2 registered"), and the row menu carries edit, delete, Open Device GUI (the device's own web interface, proxied — it works even for a VPN adapter on the far side of the world), Copy Provisioning URL and Download Config (for devices you'd rather configure by file upload).
DHCP option 66 can still bootstrap a factory-fresh device on the LAN, but once Exovo's configuration is applied the device stops obeying it — a site's router handing out its own option 66 can't quietly redirect a provisioned device.
Changing the mapping later is the same wizard — save, and the device picks the new configuration up on its next provisioning fetch (reboot the base to force it).
Devices without a template
Any DECT base or FXS adapter that speaks standard SIP still works as a generic device: create one extension per handset/port, read its SIP credentials from Admin → Users → Auth Info, and register each account in the device's own web UI against your system FQDN (5060, or 5061 for TLS). You lose zero-touch provisioning, not functionality.
Fanvil W6xx portables
Fanvil's Wi-Fi/DECT portable handsets (W610W, W611W, W620W) are provisioned as regular Fanvil phones, not through the DECT/FXS flow — assign them like any desk phone.
